Drug Effect

Many people living with addiction

Many people living with addiction feel great shame as a result of their habits, so before I begin speaking about particular problems associated with addiction, I need be clear about my understanding of addiction as a disease. Addiction can happen to anyone and that falling victim to addiction is not a sign of weakness or a personal failing.

Addiction is dominating. When in the midst of it, it’s easy to let other aspects of life, like relationships, jobs and finances, fall by the wayside. When high or drunk, it’s virtually impossible to focus on anything outside the sensation, and when in withdrawal, the rest of the world fades away as the need for more drugs dominates. As such, it’s not always easy to see

how drug-seeking behavior can affect others.

Addiction as an issue of trans-generational trauma and therefore an opportunity to heal the many.

People’s addiction issues commonly occur because they begin using drugs to mask particular emotions that they are going through. The abuse makes them feel good and forget about the problem at hand. Eventually they think they can’t live without drugs.

When an addict is ready to answer the WHY question, that is the moment that addiction can end and a lifetime of recovery can begin. We help addicts navigate through the difficult journey into their past, present, and future to understand exactly WHY they are using drugs and alcohol to cope with their pain. Clients will be guided through a liberating transformation process where they can apply a powerful philosophy in their life, thus letting go of the crippling thoughts, emotions, and feelings that continue to lead them down a path of self-destruction.
